Adult Mental Health First Aid (Two Day)
Who Is It For?
This course is suitable for anyone aged 16 and over who wants to become a certified Mental Health First Aider. It is ideal for individuals who care about supporting others and want to build the knowledge and confidence to recognise signs of poor mental health, start meaningful conversations and provide appropriate first-level support.
Whether in the workplace, community, education settings or everyday life, this training equips you with practical skills that can make a real difference wherever you are.

What Will You Learn?

As an MHFAider®, you will learn how to:

Recognise the signs and symptoms of poor mental health

Provide initial support and early intervention

Encourage individuals to access appropriate professional help and other sources of support

Practise active listening and empathetic communication

Have informed conversations with greater confidence and mental health literacy

Understand the MHFAider® role, including boundaries and confidentiality

Prioritise your own self-care while supporting others

Use the MHFAider Support App® to access ongoing guidance and resources

Duration
Two full days (09:00–17:00)

Certification
Upon successful completion, participants receive an Adult Mental Health First Aid certificate from MHFA England, valid for three years.
Refresher courses are available.
